USTA National Campus Adds Pickleball and Padel, Grand Opening Scheduled for June
Pickleball and Padel are coming to the USTA National Campus in Orlando this June!
The USTA National Campus has expanded the Nemours Family Zone to add four Pickleball courts and four Padel courts that are scheduled to open next month. The racquet sports, which are complementary to tennis, provide fun and exciting play opportunities for all.
What is Pickleball?
Think of Pickleball as a crafty mix of badminton, tennis and ping-pong. Like tennis, Pickleball can be played as singles or doubles but the pickleball ball is plastic and perforated like a wiffleball.
What is Padel?
Padel is a racquet sport that is easy to learn and hard to master. It combines the best aspects of tennis, racquetball and squash to create a fast-paced sport that is played on an artificial turf surface with many points being played off the glass walls.
The USTA National Campus is hosting a grand opening week June 1-5, 2021, so players can get introduced to the new racquet sports and play some fun, social games. Several complimentary one-hour sessions of Pickleball or Padel are available to join throughout the grand opening week.
As Pickleball and Padel are integrated into the USTA National Campus, more options will also be available including clinics, socials, camps, and private and semi-private lessons.
