Greetings from the Residence Inn at Lake Nona, FL! What a wonderful day we had!

After a chance to sleep in, some of my players went over to the USTA National Campus facility to practice before our first match at 12:30. We won this match against MO Valley 2-1. After lunch at the Netpoint Grill, we played our 2nd match at 4:30pm against the tough Eastern Woods team from Long Island. What made this match interesting is that one of their players lives in our area of Florida part of the year, and we play her during the regular season. Our court 1 battled it out against her and her partner, but ended up losing the 3rd set tiebreak. Hate those tiebreaks!

Thanks to my fabulously talented team, we ended up winning the match on courts 2 and 3.    The sun setting was certainly a factor for us but the temperature was a wonderful 75 degrees.

We are now 2-0 and in first place for our flight! After the match, we all dined at the Chroma restaurant, which is right next to our hotel. Fat and happy, we returned to our hotel looking forward to a nice restful sleep.

Tomorrow afternoon we will battle the Southwest team to WIN our flight!

Wish us luck!

Susanne Navarro, captain of the Florida 3.5 55 & Over Section
