Dear Florida Tennis Community,

Florida is no stranger to unexpected challenges. From hurricanes to economic downturns, we have weathered our share of storms. Each time, we pull together as a family, help our communities recover and grow TOGETHER.

The current environment we are facing is uncharted territory. While we don’t yet know how long our state will be impacted by COVID-19, we do know that we will work through it TOGETHER.

USTA Florida remains dedicated to helping our communities of tennis players, providers and fans stay positive and healthy at all times. We are HERE TO SERVE, and nothing will change that. Here are a few ways we are working to help you stay connected, active and positive while you are off the courts:

  1. NEW Provider Resources – We have launched a new area of USTAFlorida.com focused entirely on provider resources. All providers – School teachers, coaches, NJTLs and tennis teaching professionals – can access a wealth of information and training to help improve your game and prepare to serve your customers when tennis play returns. We will continue to add resources to this page throughout the suspension period. Have a need? Let us know! Visit www.USTAFlorida.com/Provider for more details.
  2. Pro Power Hour – Our team is working hard to keep players active and engaged during the suspension/isolation period. Our staff are putting the finishing touches on a new USTA Florida Pro Power Hour. Beginning April 1st, our USTA Florida tennis teaching professionals will provide you with one hour of tips and activities to keep you moving while you are at home. Stay tuned to www.USTAFlorida.com/propowerhour for full details and the exact time for our first Pro Power Hour.
  3. Social Media Contest – Looking for additional ways to keep you and your family occupied while at home? For those little ones, we have a new tennis coloring book available for you to download. At the same time, we are launching a social media contest for Florida players and fans who want to do #TennisAtHome. Again, be sure to like and follow @ustaflorida on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for more details on how you can play and win great prizes each week.

Finally, while tennis play is suspended, our team of staff and volunteers continue to work remotely and are available to you. Please do not hesitate to contact any of us with questions, concerns or ideas. You can find a full list of staff and our contact information at www.USTAFlorida.com/staff.

We encourage all of you to remain safe and vigilant in your daily activities – avoiding contact with others as much as possible. When you are ready to get back on the courts, we will be ready to serve up more tennis programs and activities than ever before. We play, live, work and grow TOGETHER.

In health and tennis,

Clark Higgs, USTA Florida President
Laura Bowen, USTA Florida Executive Director
