UCF Finishes Second at 2025 Tennis on Campus Nationals, UF & UM Also Represent Section
Earlier this April, the 2025 Tennis on Campus (TOC) National Championship brought together 64 of the best collegiate club tennis teams from across the country. Representing USTA Florida were three powerhouse programs: the University of Miami, the University of Florida, and the University of Central Florida.
The road to Nationals was a competitive one. The University of Miami clinched its spot by winning the USTA Florida TOC Sectional Championship, with UCF earning its place as the Sectional runner-up. The University of Florida had already punched its ticket to Nationals after taking home the title at the 2024 Fall Invitational.

UM clinched its spot at Nationals by winning Sectionals.
At Nationals, all 64 teams were divided into 16 groups of four. After pool play, teams were sorted into four brackets: Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Copper, depending on placement. Impressively, all three USTA Florida teams went 2-1 in group play, advancing to the Silver Bracket.
In the bracket round, the competition intensified. Miami faced off against the University of North Carolina but ultimately fell short in a tough match. UF battled against UCLA in a thrilling back-and-forth contest, losing by just one point in a heartbreaking finish.
UF battled all week long.
With Florida’s hopes resting on UCF, the Knights delivered an amazing performance. UCF defeated Vanderbilt 28-18 in the opening round, then rolled past the University of Tennessee in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, UCF faced off against UCLA and avenged UF’s earlier loss with a 26-22 victory to punch its ticket to the Silver Bracket finals.
UCF finished second place in the Silver Bracket.
In the final, UCF took on UC Santa Barbara, a team that had been dominant all tournament long. This turned out to be one of the most exciting matches of the entire championship season. With every game counting, it came down to the wire. UC Santa Barbara narrowly edged out UCF with a 23-22 win in a championship thriller.
USTA Florida is incredibly proud of all three teams for their hard work, sportsmanship, and representation on the national stage. For students looking to get involved in competitive club tennis, visit ustaflorida.com/toc to learn how you can join or start a TOC team at your school.
