Top Pairs Earn Golden Tickets at Doubles 18+, 40+, 55+ NTRP Sectional Championships
As competitors gathered on the courts for the NTRP Doubles 18+, 40+, and 55+ Sectional Championship, thoughts of gold raced through their minds. With over 100 athletes battling for glory in Tampa and Plantation, each doubles match was played with intensity and determination.
In a format of round-robin play, participants battled to secure their spots in the playoff flights. Those with the best records emerged as champions or finalists, earning the coveted Golden Ticket, a direct pass to the National Championship. Those flights that had four pairs or less were settled in an action-packed round robin.
For those who missed the sectional championship, there is still a chance to play at Nationals. Players that are ranked on the national player list can register for Nationals in their respective division. The two highest-ranked players that register before the registration deadline will be granted access to the tournament. Entry will only be accepted if the endorsed players, those who finished first and second in the Sectional Championship, do not participate in the National event. If you have any questions, visit the USTA website.
Discover which players secured their Golden Tickets and will compete for the national title later this year!
