“The Koz” Looks Back at the American Tennis Association’s Centennial
The Koz highlights the American Tennis Association‘s impact on the game in the Nov. 28th encore episode of “Inside Tennis with The Koz”, that airs at 11:30 a.m. on SNN TV in Florida.
The show travels back to 2016 for the 100th anniversary of the ATA, the oldest African-American sports organization in the country with a mission to promote Black tennis in America. Featured interviews include past USTA Chairman and President Katrina Adams, former USTA Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer D.A. Abrams, Executive Director of the Black Tennis Hall of Fame Bob Davis, USTA General Manager of Player Development and Black Tennis Hall of Famer Martin Blackman, former top 10 singles player Lori McNeil, Bobby Curtis and Jim Martz.
The program will also feature legendary tennis coach Nick Bollettieri sharing birthday thoughts about turning 89 years, as well as a farewell tribute to USPTA tennis professional Tom Whitten, who brought pro women’s tennis back to Sarasota by hosting ten USTA Women’s Pro Circuit events at The Oaks Club. Whitten, who served as the Director of Tennis at The Oaks Club and directed its professional tournaments, now directs the tennis programs at the highly-acclaimed Olympic Club in sunny San Francisco, Calif.
