By Janine Dennis, USTA Florida local league coordinator
The ladies are on fire in Pinellas County!
So far this year five women’s teams have advanced to the USTA League National Championships. Congratulations go out to the 55 & Over teams of Countryside (Lisa Mahler, captain 3.5) and St. Petersburg Tennis Center (Janet Matthews, captain 4.0), the 65 & Over teams of Seminole Lakes (Nancy Fruit, captain 7.0) and McMullen (Sharon Carlisle, captain 8.0), and the 40 & Over team from Tarpon Springs (Stephanie Means, captain 4.5+).
Good luck to you ladies as you represent Florida at nationals!
Pinellas County is tied with Hillsborough County in the 2018 race for the USTA Florida League Championship Cup, see the latest standings here.
Also in Pinellas County, the Tri-level league is making it’s return on Oct. 27-28! Played over a single weekend, this “tourna-league” offers an action-packed weekend of fun, friends, food and lots of great tennis.
