Following an action-packed fall season of Junior Team Tennis, USTA Florida is gearing up to welcome players back to the courts for the upcoming spring 2022 season as juniors leagues in several Florida communities resume.

“We’re always looking for opportunities to bring Junior Team Tennis to players throughout the state,” said USTA Florida Youth Team Play Manager Liz Spicer. “2021 ended on a high note with some outstanding play and sportsmanship at our Fall JTT State Championships, and we can’t way to continue that momentum this spring.”

Established in 1991, USTA Junior Team Tennis provides youth ages 6-18 with all of the health and social benefits of tennis in a coed, fun and competitive team environment — all while allowing participants to compete with and against individuals of similar ages and skill levels. The programs foster social skills, team player, cooperation and individual self-growth.

“A majority of people tend to view tennis as a strictly individual sport, but that’s not always the case,” adds Spicer. “Junior Team Tennis is a fantastic way for players to meet new people, participate in a good amount of match play, and overall, just have a good time while learning about sportsmanship and teamwork.”

Leagues are currently available in the following areas:

All teams and/or players who play in a USTA Florida Junior Team Tennis program are eligible to enter the 2022 JTT Spring State Championships, to be held June 4-5, 2022, at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Fla. In addition, 14U and 18U intermediate and advanced divisions will be eligible to enter the USTA Florida National Championship Qualifier, to be held June 3-5, 2022, also at Sanlando Park.
