Advanced tennis players in the 18 & Over and 40 & Over age divisions will get a league championship all of their own in 2016 when Florida hosts the “Road to Las Vegas” at the USTA Florida League Open & 5.5 Championships on July 8-10, 2016, at the Florida Tennis Center in Daytona Beach.
No local league play is required for teams to enter, with the winners in each division advancing to represent the USTA Florida Section at the 2016 USTA National Open & 5.5 League Championships in Las Vegas, Nev., on Sept.30-Oct. 2 at the Darling Tennis Center.
Men’s Divisions:
18 & Over 5.5 — 1 singles, 2 doubles (min. 5 players, max. 10 players per team)
18 & Over Open — 1 singles, 2 doubles (min. 5 players, max. 10 players per team)
40 & Over Open — 3 doubles (min. 6 players, max. 10 players per team)
Women’s Divisions:
18 & Over Open — 1 singles, 2 doubles (min. 5 players, max. 10 players per team)
40 & Over Open — 3 doubles (min. 6 players, max. 10 players per team)
Players must be 18 years or older to compete, and a local league fee of $25 per player will be charged. Players must have current USTA membership.
The play format will be round robin flights with possible flight winner playoffs depending on the number of teams entered in each division. Regular scoring will be played in the first two sets, with a match tiebreak (first to 10 points) in lieu of a third set.
