Registration Still Open for 2023 Junior Team Tennis Fall State Championship
Registration is still open for the 2023 Junior Team Tennis (JTT) Fall State Championship! The Fall State Championship, a flagship event, is taking place at the Florida Tennis Center in Daytona Beach on December 9 and December 10.
JTT is more than just wins and losses, it’s one of the best ways to teach and encourage these young athletes to continue playing this sport. Each team represents different regions of Florida, and not only does JTT thrive on the court, but it also helps teach real-life lessons such as teamwork and sportsmanship.
The JTT Fall State Championship will feature the following age groups:
- 10U Advanced – Green Ball
- 12 and Under Beginner – Green Ball
- 12 and Under Intermediate – Yellow Ball
- 14 and Under – Intermediate
- 18 and Under – Intermediate
USTA Florida Youth Play Coordinator in Escambia County, Maggie Lochas loves how JTT is the perfect solution for all kids looking to get involved in tennis. “In the panhandle, Junior Team Tennis is the perfect opportunity for juniors to get match play experience and court time,” she said. “Whether they are a beginner just starting out, a player looking to reach the next level, or an accomplished athlete preparing during the off season, Junior Team Tennis offers something for all young tennis players.”
Also, during the JTT Fall State Championship, USTA Florida’s newest partner, SwingVision, will be present for competitors to utilize. SwingVision uses artificial intelligence to analyze your video in real-time on just a single smartphone. This technology will allow you to track your shot placement & ball speed, watch a 2-hour match in 30 minutes, create highlights of your best points, and even challenge line calls with an Apple watch, just like the pros! USTA Florida members can get a special discount on the SwingVision Pro Yearly & SwingStick bundle that includes unlimited shot tracking, video analysis & cloud storage for life!
Teams have until November 25 to sign up for this year’s Fall State Championships. “We encourage everyone to sign up and come experience the joy of Junior Team Tennis with us,” said Liz Spicer, USTA Florida Youth Team Play Manager.
