In celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, USTA Florida and the Asian-American Pacific Islander Tennis Association (AAPITA) are coming together to host a special Community Tennis Day at the Lake Cane Tennis Center on Saturday, May 3.
This fun and inclusive event is open to everyone and aims to form community connections and celebrate diversity in the sport of tennis. The day kicks off some light activities, social tennis play, followed by a short break and cultural showcase round out the morning. The highlight of the day is the AAPI Panel and Q&A session in the afternoon, offering an opportunity to hear firsthand experiences from influential voices in the AAPI tennis community. Trishna Patel, Tracy Singian, Ronit Karki, and Vania King will all be joining the panel.
AAPI Heritage Month is a time to recognize and honor the rich cultural contributions, history, and achievements of the Asian American and Pacific Islander community. By blending sport with cultural celebration, this event provides a unique space where families and individuals can come together to play, learn, and connect.
Additionally, the event will feature Bollywood dancers that will lead the participants in a cultural dance workshop.
Whether you’re picking up a racquet for the first time or simply looking to celebrate community and culture, this event is the perfect way to be part of something meaningful. Let’s honor AAPI Heritage Month together! Spots are filling up fast so make sure to reserve your free spot today.
