Becoming An Approved Tournament Director
Florida Tournament Directors must complete the following requirements to be approved to complete the USTA Tournament application.
Complete your Safe Sport and Safe Play training
- This includes a background check that must be completed.
- All tournament staff must be Safe Sport and Safe Play approved.

Link your USTA account to the Serve Tennis
- If you do not already have a USTA account, create one
- Login & link your USTA account to the Serve Tennis Platform Playtennis.usta.com

Junior Facility/Site & Officials Requirements
See below for the Facility/Site & Officials requirements for the Junior Tournament Levels 7 thru 4.
Level 7 Requirements
- Registered Tournament Director
- Separate Certified referee
- Plus a roving umpire and/or court monitor at one per 6 occupied courts.
- Minimum 4 courts per 8 player draw
Level 6 Requirements
- Registered Tournament Director
- Separate Certified referee
- Plus a roving umpire at one per 6 occupied courts. (i.e. 8 Courts require a minimum of the Referee and 2 Roving Officials)
- Minimum 6 courts per 16 player draw
Level 5 Requirements
- Registered Tournament Director
- Separate Certified referee
- Plus a roving umpire at one per 4 occupied courts. (i.e. 8 Courts require a minimum of the Referee and 2 Roving Officials
- Minimum 8 courts per 32 player draw
Level 4 Requirements
- Registered Tournament Director
- Separate Certified referee
- Plus a roving umpire at one per 4 occupied courts. (i.e. 8 Courts require a minimum of the Referee and 2 Roving Officials)
- Minimum 12 courts per 64 player draw
