Teams from Collier and Pinellas counties will attempt to defend their titles from last year among some of the top 55 and over tennis teams in Florida this weekend when the Florida Tennis Center in Daytona Beach hosts the 2015 USTA Florida Mixed 55 & Over League Sectional Championships, Nov. 13-15.
Defending champions from last season in the field are the 8.0 winners Pinellas County (St. Petersburg), and the 7.0 champion Collier County (Naples).
Divisions will be contested at the NTRP (National Tennis Rating Program) 7.0 and 8.0 mixed doubles levels for players age 55 & over. All matches will be the best of two tiebreak sets with a set tiebreak (Coman tiebreak procedure) at 6-all. In the event of split sets, a match tiebreak (Coman tiebreak procedure) will be played in lieu of a third set.
