Pointer Sisters to Headline 2017 Chris Evert Celebrity Tennis in Boca Raton
Participants at this year’s Chris Evert/Raymond James Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic will get “So Excited” when The Pointer Sisters headline the 28th annual gala, presented by master of ceremonies and ESPN tennis commentator Chris McKendry on Saturday, Nov. 4 at the Boca Raton Resort & Club.
The three-time Grammy-winning American R&B singing group from Oakland, Calif., during their career had 13 Billboard Hot 100 U.S. Top 20 hits including “I’m So Excited,” “Fire,” “He’s So Shy,” and “Slow Hand.”
Following a 20-year run on ESPN’s flagship program SportsCenter, McKendry’s focus moved to tennis in 2016 when she started fronting ESPN’s start-to-finish and extensive coverage of three of the sport’s majors — the Australian Open, Wimbledon and the US Open.
The black-tie gala will begin at 6 p.m. and includes dinner, cocktails, dancing, and live and silent auctions. Tickets are $750 per person. The three-day pro-celebrity charity event (Nov. 3-5) also includes two days of celebrity tennis at the Delray Beach Tennis Center.
Participating celebrities include:
TV Show Hosts: Dr. Phil McGraw (“Dr. Phil”), Steve Doocy (“Fox & Friends”)
