Don’t let that special tennis player, provider, program or facility go unnoticed!
The nomination process for the 2021 USTA Florida winter/spring local tennis awards will close on March 31. Nominations are currently being accepted for the following awards:
Champion of Tennis
This award recognizes an individual(s), a community or program partner(s), who may or may not be a volunteer(s) for USTA Florida. Their contributions result in the promotion and/or development of tennis in their community and/or throughout Florida. These contributions may be defined in time, accomplishments, skills, resources and/or efforts. This award includes nominees from the following categories:
- Adaptive Tennis
- Adult Programs
- Family
- School Partners
- Community Partners
- Coaches
- Wheelchair Tennis
- Youth Programs
- Facilities
Jimmy Gantt Memorial Award
This award recognizes a tennis player who has overcome a physical impairment or injury. Tournament players, league players, recreational players, adaptive players, and wheelchair players (junior and adult) are included. The player competes to the best of his/her ability and exhibits strong character and sportsmanship. NOTE: The criteria for this award was based on outstanding achievement, sportsmanship and courage until 1984.
All nominations must be submitted via the official nomination form. All nominations are due no later than Wednesday, March 31. No nominations will be accepted after this date. USTA Florida employees are not eligible to receive the awards.
Once the nomination period closes, the USTA Florida Awards Committee will review, evaluate and select the winner(s). Winners will be notified no later than April 30. Awards will be presented in May.
