Net Generation Bringing ‘Safe Play’ Tennis Fun Day to Sebring in Florida
The USTA Safe Play program has made child safety a priority at both the local recreational and national level. Net Generation, a program developed to provide certified local programming and coaching for youth, requires tennis providers to complete the USTA Safe Play program and a criminal background check.
Now Net Generation is coming to Sebring via the #SummerOfNetGeneration.
Junior tennis players at the High Performance Summer Camp at Sun ‘N Lake Racquet Club will experience Net Generation and Safe Play providers up close when USTA Florida brings a Net Generation Fun Day on Monday, June 25, 2018 from 2-5 p.m.
“High Performance Summer Camp at Sun ‘N Lake Racquet Club was a winner in our #SummerOfNetGeneration contest for summer tennis camps in Florida, and we’re looking forward to bringing the Net Generation experience to Sebring,” says USTA Florida Director of Marketing, Membership, & Sponsorship Jeanne Ford. “The USTA Safe Play program for tennis providers ensures parents that teaching pros and other organizers have all passed the three-step screening process and National Center for Safety Initiatives background check, and will provide a safe, secure and fun environment for participating youth.
“USTA Florida relies on volunteer coaches, officials, trainers, independent contractors, consultants and staff who make our programs work across the state. USTA Safe Play provides parents and legal guardians with a sense of security for their children, and prevents individuals with ill intentions from becoming involved in youth tennis programming.”
The Sebring Net Generation Fun Day will feature a day of fun activities, food and giveaways for campers.
It all coincides with this summer’s launch of Net Generation during the U.S. summer pro tournament lead-up to the US Open. Beginning in late July, the US Open Series kicks off with the ATP World Tour’s BB&T Open in Atlanta, when TV commercials and USTA national marketing campaigns will drive parents to www.NetGeneration.com to look for local play opportunities.
“I am a parent, and for the longest time I didn’t know how to get in touch with coaches and trainers for my children, and I am from the tennis world,” said Floridian and 17-time Grand Slam doubles winner Gigi Fernandez. “Net Generation acts as a one-stop place to find coaches, programs or play opportunities.”
Sebring became a winner of a Net Generation Fun Day at their tennis camp by entering the #SummerOfNetGeneration contest for Florida summer camps registered at www.NetGeneration.com.
