Miami-Dade County’s Todd Rubinstein named USTA Florida Tennis Volunteer of the Month

In the realm of tennis influencers, who are more than just players, Todd Rubinstein stands as a role model and inspiration for many. Todd, who is USTA Florida’s August Volunteer of the Month, has been taking team tennis in Miami-Dade County to another level by being a great asset to the community. 

Todd got started with tennis when he was a young boy and would play with his father a lot. Since then, he has leveled up his game and taken his love for tennis off the court.  

Todd is extremely involved with this community, giving back whenever he can.

For the past 4 years, Todd has been extremely active with USTA and USPTA. His role has brought tons of tennis to the South Florida community. For instance, he led the charge for tennis down in Miami-Dade County while in the middle of the Covid pandemic. He took charge in initiatives and got to work, growing the game of tennis in the state. 

His work with USTA and USTPA has been wonderful for the community as more coaches were needed than ever before, due to the rise in players recently. “Todd stood up as an inspirational leader and took immediate actions, immersing himself as a lighthouse or linchpin of sorts, volunteering endless hours,” one of his peers said. 

Todd does it all for the sport and the people he gets to have a positive impact on. While he can play tennis as much as he wants, he finds greater joy in being able to make others enjoy the sport. “Though it takes a team to accomplish anything, I feel that as an individual, I’m doing as much as I can to stay involved in the industry through a direct and honest approach which encourages, celebrates, and inspires by investing in people,” he said. 

Todd always puts others first and wants everyone to enjoy the game of tennis.

He wants tennis to continue to grow and take steps forward. His vision is to listen to the players and continue to drive diversity, trust, and fun within the sport. There is no tennis without the players, and that is why Todd puts countless hours into making sure that the people involved with the game are happy and feel welcomed, regardless of race, gender, skill, or age. 

Todd is a driving force for positive change in his community. Through tennis, he empowers, inspires, and uplifts those around him. His desire to positively influence the community is amazing for the South Florida tennis community and the entire state. 

As USTA Florida’s August Volunteer of the Month, the organization thanks Todd and recognizes him as one of the leaders in making change for the better.
