Play Days Adult Tennis News

nick-2015Florida tennis clubs, facilities, and parks and recreation complexes can once again attract adults and children alike for new programming opportunities by hosting a USTA Free Tennis Play Event this September in conjunction with Nickelodeon’s Worldwide Day of Play throughout the country.

Get families excited and active in tennis during National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month in September with a USTA Free Tennis Play Event, which invites the whole family to get out and play together — parents, and kids of all ages and skill levels, to try tennis at local events and facilities across the country.

Tennis promotions on the Nickelodeon network in the coming months will drive millions of new families to the Youth Tennis website. Register your event and watch the advertising power of Nickelodeon and the USTA drive players to your event listing at www.YouthTennis.com.

Parents are realizing that early, positive experiences in sports are vital to combatting physical inactivity and creating a lifelong commitment to an active lifestyle. The USTA and tennis facilities have teamed to host approximately 5,000 USTA Free Tennis Play Events over the last three years, in the process growing business for local clubs and facilities.

“It is critical to provide more opportunities for children to get active and inspire them to lead a healthy lifestyle,” said Kurt Kamperman, Chief Executive, Community Tennis, USTA. “These USTA Free Tennis Play Events are part of our ongoing efforts to ensure an early positive experience for kids and families in tennis, the sport for a lifetime. To that end, we want to provide access and increased opportunities to participate in local programs and events.”
