60 teams, both men’s and women’s, will participate at 15 different sites around the country with four teams at each site, competing for a chance to play in the 2020 ITA National Team Indoor Championships. The ITA Kick-Off Weekend is unique in college athletics in that each regional is determined via the Kick-Off Weekend Draft, held in June, where each team selects which regional they wish to participate in. Selections were made in order of the final 2018-2019 Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings.
Six men’s teams and five women’s teams from Florida universities will participate:
Men’s – Florida State (FSU), University of Florida (UF), University of South Florida (USF), Florida Atlantic University (FAU), University of Central Florida (UCF), and University of Miami (UM)
Women’s – Florida State (FSU), University of Florida (UF), University of South Florida (USF), University of Central Florida (UCF), and University of Miami (UM)
As a host school for the women’s division, the 15th-ranked FSU women’s team garnered the top seed for the region with No. 17 Texas A&M as the second seed, No. 20 UM as the third seed, and No. 57 UC Santa Barbara as the fourth seed.
For the men, No. 4 UF picked up the top seed for the region, followed by No. 34 USF as the second, No. 70 Fresno State as the third, and No. 76 Temple University as the fourth seed.
#ITAKickoff Weekend is gonna be a party in the Swamp and we are pumped!! 🥳
