Adult beginners along with seasoned adult tennis players in Florida are invited to come out and play in two special events next month at the 2020 Miami Open presented by Itaú.
On Friday, Apr. 3rd, from 10:00 am-12:30 pm, adult beginner players are encouraged to take part in Friday Fun Day, an on-court social event at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. Players will have the opportunity to participate in a rotation of cardio tennis, triples, and facilitated match play.
$100 per person includes:
- 300 level ticket for the day men’s semifinal matches
- Parking pass for Friday
- $25 food voucher
- On court play experience
- Player gift
This social event is targeted toward adult beginner players from USTA Florida’s Love to Learn or Love to Play programs up to 3.0 tennis players. All three activities will use orange and green balls for play. Players will spend 45 minutes at each station.
Cardio Tennis – a fun, group activity that features drills to give players of all abilities an ultimate, high-energy workout. Cardio Tennis will include a warm-up, cardio workout, and cool down phase.
Triples – Triples is a fast-moving, signature game that uses a format of 3 on 3, with one player at the net and two at the baseline for each team. Players will rotate positions after every point.
Facilitated Play – USTA Florida ambassadors will assist with game play and rotation as players use alternative scoring in a match-like setting.
Seasoned adult players can take the court during Super Social Weekend at the 2020 Miami Open, a two-day team social event that will feature match play for teams at one of two levels:
- Saturday 7.5 men’s and women’s (3.0/4.0 or 3.5/3.5 or 3.5/4.0)

7.5 teams will play on Apr. 4 and 8.5+ teams will take the court Apr. 5. All play will be held from 9:00 am-12:30 pm at the Hard Rock Stadium.
