Florida Featuring Pro Tennis Galore in Early 2018, and Net Generation for Kids
The remainder of January through March will be prime pro tennis-watching months in Florida as the USTA Pro Circuit, the Delray Beach Open and the Miami Open showcase the top and up-and-coming players. In addition the new USTA youth initiative Net Generation will offer kids’ activities that will give local children an opportunity to be involved with professional tennis and interact with tennis’ rising stars.
The 39th season of the USTA Pro Circuit is already underway, in Florida this week in Naples (men) and Daytona Beach (women), and next week in Sunrise (men) and Orlando (women) at the USTA National Campus. The USTA Pro Circuit features more than 90 events this year, including nine women’s events at $80,000-plus in prize money and six men’s Challengers at $100,000-plus in prize money.
New this year, USTA Pro Circuit tournaments will be featuring the USTA’s Net Generation where local children at tournaments will be given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take part in pre-match coin tosses, be a player escort prior to matches, or play tennis during an on-court Net Generation demonstration.
Returning for 2018 will be live streaming for all USTA Pro Circuit men’s Challengers and women’s events with prize money of $60,000 or more, and USTA Pro Circuit Wild Card Challenges which award wild cards into the main draws of the French Open, US Open, and Australian Open based on players’ results at select USTA Pro Circuit events.
