Five Teams Emerge Winners at Adult 18 & Over 3.5/5.0 and 40 & Over 2.5 Sectional Championships

It was a beautiful weekend at the USTA National Campus as USTA Florida hosted the Adult 18 & Over 3.5/5.0 Sectional Championships. There was also the Adult 40 & Over 2.5 Women’s Sectional Championship. 

Teams from all over the state gathered for flight play, where the top teams went into a bracket draw in the 3.5 division and round robin for the 5.0 division.  

The 3.5 matches were super competitive as Broward County and Miami-Dade County found themselves victorious and earning a spot in the National Championships. Broward, in the Women’s draw, were great all weekend long and proved that in the finals. The same could be said for Miami-Dade in the Men’s division as they played amazing tennis. 

Over on the 5.0 side of the court, Duval County dominated the Women’s draw, as they went 4-0 and looked sharp. In the Men’s draw, Hillsborough County also went undefeated at 4-0 and will represent Florida on the national stage this fall. 

In the Adult 40 & Over 2.5, the ladies from Hillsborough County were amazing, playing great tennis and winning a close championship over Duval County.

Adult 18 & Over Sectional Results 

3.5 Women 

Championship: Broward County (Frank Veltri Tennis Center) defeated Duval County (Club Continental) 3-2

Round Robin Results: Duval County (Florida Yacht Club) finished first with a record of 4-0, while Broward County (Lauderdale Tennis Club) finished second with a record of 1-3.
