Women’s 70-74 Gold Medal Winners
The City of Tallahassee Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Affairs hosted the 5th anual Senior Games on March 8 to encourage adults 50 and older to stay active and healthy by participating in one of 19 sporting events, including tennis.
Even though the tennis competition had to be cancelled in recent years due to low participation, there were 50 participants this year, primarily due to players being drawn from the Silver Belles and Golden Boys recreational tennis leagues.
The division medal winners included:
Men’s 80-84 – Bill Cotton/Al McCully (Gold), Bob Peters/Pete Durland (Silver)
Men’s 70-74 – Sam Kovacs/Mike Goslin (Gold), Richard Talbot/Russ Stromberg (Silver), Jake Varn/John Larson (Bronze)
Men’s 60-64 – Brett Sanford/Dan Damerville (Gold), Dale Barnett/Roger Shields (Silver), Robert McCabe/Gary Clarke (Bronze)
Women’s 70-74 – Martha Mitchell/Geisla Kobetitish (Gold), Dee Branch/Caroline Allaire (Silver), Mary Kidd/Gloria Whittaker (Bronze)
Women’s 60-64 – Jan Gleason/Jane Berry (Gold), Darlene Horton/Rochelle Mayo (Silver), Lois Carrington/Linda Frazier (Bronze)
Women 50-54 – Wendy Barnett/Terri Bedowski (Gold), Patti Sudduth/Mo Campbell (Silver), Wanda Eberhart/Mary Linzy (Bronze)
