‘Fantasy Tennis’ Combines 10 and Under, Masters for Family Fun
Masters Tennis on 60-foot courts, and 10 and Under Tennis are both a part of “Fantasy Tennis,” an ongoing weekly play opportunity at Rotonda Community Park in Rotonda West, near Englewood on Florida’s Southwest coast.
“The holiday season is over, but Fantasy Tennis continues on an every-other-week schedule through March,” says organizer Arthur “Dick” Richards. “The Gary Littlestar ‘Get Out and Play’ series is also starting to heat up with volley clinics and play.”
Junior players start on 36-foot courts, “hoping to achieve play with their elders on the 60-foot family court,” Richard says.
The ongoing Saturday series play days are sponsored by the Cultural Guild of the Greater Cape Haze Peninsula and USTA Florida, in cooperation with West Charlotte County.
No registration or fee is required to participate, and balls are provided and rackets are available to those in need. Members of the wheelchair and the deaf/H.H. communities are also welcomed.
