USTA Florida is gearing up for the upcoming fall 2019 season of Junior Team Tennis, with 10 Local Youth Play Coordinators serving 19 counties throughout the state. The programs start in mid-to-late September and run through mid-to-late October

“Junior Team Tennis is a great way to get a lot of match play, meet new players and have fun,” says USTA Florida Junior Team Tennis Coordinator Liz Coates. “It’s also great for those high school players to get match play by joining one of our local Fall Ball programs before they start their spring season.”

Leagues are currently available in the following areas:

Established in 1991, USTA Junior Team Tennis provides youth ages 6-18 with all of the health and social benefits of tennis in a coed, fun and competitive team environment — all while allowing participants to compete with and against individuals of similar ages and skill levels. Beginner, intermediate and advanced skill levels are all covered — with divisions from 8-and-under up to 18-and-under.

USTA Junior Team Tennis brings kids together in teams to play singles, doubles and mixed doubles against other beginner, intermediate or advanced teams. The programs promote social skills and important values, as well as foster cooperation, team play, and individual self-growth. JTT provides kids with a fun environment in which they learn that succeeding isn’t just about winning — it’s about how they play the game and respond to challenges.

All teams and/or players who play in a USTA Florida Junior Team Tennis program are eligible to enter the USTA Florida State Championship in Boca Raton on December 7-8, 2019.
