Event Information
We are seeking volunteers who are familiar with reading and interpreting current and future match times on a tennis bracket (draws) and round-robin formats – including consolation draws, 3rd/4th place playoffs, etc.
We are seeking 1-3 volunteers per shift, for any number of shifts and days.
Morning: Approximately 730am – 1130am
Afternoon: Approximately 1130am – 330pm
Late Afternoon/Evening: Approximately 330pm – 730pm
Volunteers Needed: 30
Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities will include:
- Assist the Tournament Directors in the operation of the tournament, this includes, but is not limited to:
- Working at the tournament desk to provide support for the tournament operations
- Develop an ongoing relationship with players to ensure they feel welcome and comfortable with the tournament operation
- Provide directions (court locations, restrooms, practice courts, etc.) – Tournament Directors will assist you with “FAQ” type information
- Check-in players and maintain the check-in list
- Call players for their match – maintain the match schedule “call list”
- Take scores and enter into computer and/or on posted draw sheets at the tennis center
- Ensure players are aware of their status (next match time, their place in the match queue, if they have future matches, etc.)
- Maintain new and used ball inventory
- Assist with recording finishers for medals and ribbons (top 8), includes obtaining player signatures
- Answer player questions about overall schedule status (ahead/behind/rain delays, etc.) – in concert with Tournament Director and Officials
- Other duties as assigned – checking match progress, assisting in contacting players, etc.
