Deadline Approaching for 2018 USTA Florida Junior Team Tennis Sectionals

July 9 is the deadline for Florida teams to register for the 2018 USTA Florida Junior Team Tennis Sectional Championships, the qualifying event for the 2018 USTA Junior Team Tennis National Championships.

The 2018 USTA Florida Junior Team Tennis Sectional Championships will be held on July 20-22 at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs. The national championships will be held on Nov. 1-4 for the 14 & Under divisions and Nov. 8-11 for the 18 & Under divisions at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.

Team members must have a current USTA membership, a Junior NTRP Rating (for more info go to www.USTA.com/Junior_Ratings), must have played at least four matches recorded in TennisLink in a sanctioned USTA Junior Team Tennis local league between Sept. 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018, and the team captain/manager must have completed the USTA Safe Play background check prior to the event.

Teams are comprised of three girls and three boys in one of four divisions: 14 & Under Intermediate, 18 & Under Intermediate, 14 & Under Advanced or 18 & Under Advanced.

Last year the co-ed Miami Tornados and the Miami Thunder were the 14 & Under and 18 & Under champions at the 2017 USTA Florida Junior Team Tennis Sectional Championships, advancing to represent Florida at the USTA Junior Team Tennis National Championships.
