Division I tennis national award winners were announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association this week, and a Florida coach and player were lauded.
Oliver Crawford of the University of Florida was named the ITA Player to Watch, and Cristina Sanchez-Quintar of the University of Central Florida was named the ITA Assistant Coach of the Year.
Sanchez-Quintar helped lead the women’s UCF Knights to a 24-4 overall record, a first-ever American Athletic Conference title, and to the round of 16 at the NCAA Championship.

Crawford competed at the No. 1 spot as a sophomore at UF, compiling a 22-9 overall win-loss record and going 9-3 in conference play. He was 11-7 against nationally-ranked singles players, and beat national champion Petros Chrysochos of Wake Forest.

In doubles Crawford saw time at all three positions in the Gators lineup. He was 15-7 in dual doubles and 8-3 in league action. He was 10-2 at No. 3 doubles. He earned first team All-SEC honors and a second consecutive NCAA singles tournament berth.
The ITA team and individual events were held over the last two weeks at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.
