Broward County’s Catherine Thomas named USTA Florida Tennis Volunteer of the Month

USTA Florida is proud to recognize Catherine Thomas as the Volunteer of the Month for February. A dedicated and passionate advocate for tennis in Broward County, Catherine has made a significant impact at the Dillon Tennis Center, where she tirelessly works to form teams and create opportunities for players of all levels. 

Catherine is known for her inclusive approach, always welcoming new players to the area and ensuring they feel a sense of belonging in the tennis community. Her enthusiasm and dedication have not gone unnoticed, as fellow players and organizers constantly speak highly of her leadership, kindness, and team spirit. 

In the last three years, Catherine’s team has made it to the sectional finals at the USTA National Campus. She is extremely proud of her group and how they work together to achieve their goals. 

For Catherine, volunteering in tennis is more than just a way to stay involved in the sport, it’s her lifelong passion. She enjoys creating a welcoming environment for players of all skill levels and helping them find success on the court.  

Outside of volunteering, Catherine loves to play tennis in her free time. One of her latest achievements on the courts came from the NTRP Sectionals, where she and her partner competed at the earned a spot at the NTRP National Championships! 

When she’s not on the court organizing teams or competing in matches, Catherine enjoys shopping and catching up on sleep. However, tennis always remains at the heart of her daily life, and her commitment to the sport continues to inspire those around her.
