Adult Sectional 2023 Season Kicks Off With Thrilling Adult 55 & Over 7.0/9.0 Championships

The 2023 USTA Florida Adult League Sectional season officially kicked off this past weekend at the USTA National Campus. Tennis was in the air and the sun shined through the clouds to provide the perfect weather for all. 

There was Adult 55 & Over 7.0 and 9.0 teams in action and the competition was as fierce as ever. Adult 55 & Over follows a Doubles format, where each pair adds their rating together to equal the rating at which they are playing. 

This was the first Sectional Championship of the 2023 season.

In the Womens’ 7.0, it was Duval County’s team from Club Continental that was able to squeeze out a tight 2-1 victory. 

The Mens’ 7.0 was no different, as the matches were back and forth. Midtown Athletic Club, from Broward, faced off against DB Racquet Club from Alachua. Every line was neck-and-neck, but in the end, Midtown was able to secure the win for Broward. 

In the 9.0 divisions, Hillsborough County’s team from HCC Tennis Complex won both the Womens’ and the Mens’ brackets in round robin play.
